Youth Corps Focus Areas

When it comes to volunteering, the possibilities can go on forever. VolunteerLEON Youth Corps address many issues through community service projects; however, in order for us to establish partnerships with other community organizations, VolunteerLEON Youth Corps concentrate on:

HIV/AIDS
Environment
Animals
Disaster & Disabilities
School Improvement
Understanding Intergenerational Concerns
Prevention

HIV/AIDS – AIDS is caused by an infection with a virus called human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). This virus is passed from one person to another through blood-to-blood contact and sexual intercourse.  Because so many people can be affected by this deadly disease, Youth Corps members want to play a part in educating other youth about ways to avoid infection.

Intergenerational programs provide children, youth and older adults an opportunity to volunteer while contributing meaningfully to society.
