Title:

Criminal Courts Deposition Coordinator

Department:

Second Judicial Circuit

Major Objectives:

To assist the Office of Official Court Reporters in the completion of day to day activities with the taking of depositions in criminal cases in Leon County.

Responsibilities:

Coordinating, scheduling depositions with the public defenders, special appointed public defenders and assistant state attorneys in criminal cases in Leon County. Preparing paperwork, swearing witnesses, coordination of disseminating tapes to typists for transcript production, copying, binding and delivering final product. Coordination of room allocation for private counsel who need to take depositions at the courthouse, and other duties assigned by the supervising reporter.

Qualifications:

Excellent telephone skills, proficiency in WordPerfect and other word processing applications. Good organizational and time management skills, attention to detail. Great interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Training/Preparation:

Specific instruction as to the nature, scope and performance of the required duties will be provided on the job.

Additional Information:

Interns will be provided with a work space and necessary supplies to perform their assigned functions.

Commitment:

Work schedule will be as stated on Intern application or as agreed upon with the staff for the duration of an academic semester unless notified otherwise.
