Community Health Promotion and Awareness Intern

Major Objectives:

The main focus of the Leon County Health Education Department is to increase community awareness of health issues and to provide educational services to the community. The selected intern will help us increase the amount of community access and promotion that we provide.

Responsibilities:

Intern(s) will work on multiple programs, ranging from chronic diseases , cancer awareness and HIV outreach to general office work and program planning. Students will have the opportunity to gain experience in outreach activities, developing culturally specific program materials, and hands on program implementation.

Qualifications:

Some health education/outreach experience desired.

Time and Place:

Varies-flexible; All semesters available.

Commitment:

10-15 hrs/wk
