Emergency Management Assistant

Department:

Emergency Management Department

Major Objectives:

To assist the Department in maintaining Leon County’s readiness for a disaster.

Responsibilities:

To maintain current information on the County’s emergency call-down list, health-care facility specifications, procedures for departments and other aspects of emergency management.

Qualifications:

Strong background in English and writing skills. Basic computer knowledge, especially WordPerfect and spreadsheet program, database management a plus.

Training/Preparation:

Prefer major in Planning, Public Safety, English, Journalism, Communications, Computer Science, Geography or Meteorology. Possible security check.

Time and Place:

Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Detention facility, 535 Appleyard Dr. Flexible hours.

Commitment:

One academic semester, 10 hours/week.
