Title:

County Administration Intern

Department:

County Administration

Major Objectives:

The main purpose of County Administration is to implement the decisions made by the Board of County Commissioners. An intern in this office would be exposed to a wide variety of issues and would assist in the implementation of Board direction.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on special projects, including Internet searches, telephone surveys and library research.

• Prepare written materials based on research in the form of reports and/or Board agenda items.

• Prepare correspondence for County Administrator and/or Board.

• Assist as needed in County’s Legislative program, including tracking bills and preparing summaries.

Qualifications:

Upper-division college students majoring in Public Administration, Political Science or related field. Knowledge of general office procedures. Familiarity with computers and word processing software.

Time and Place:

Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 p.m.; 5th Floor of Leon County Courthouse

Commitment:

3 months; 15-20 hours per week; intern can work any hours between 8 - 5 Monday through Friday. All semesters available.
