VolunteerLEON, the Leon County Volunteer Center

VolunteerLEON's Featured Story - December 2002

On Monday, December 2, The Capital Area Citizen’s Corps had a Tabletop Exercise meeting on coordinating a Volunteer Reception Center and it was a huge success! A Volunteer Reception Center is a concept that was developed to handle and organize spontaneous volunteers after a disaster. This exercise was designed to simulate the process and procedures of the Volunteer Reception Center after a disaster.  The Capital Area Citizens Corp (CACC) is a partnership of the Capital Area

Chapter of the American Red Cross, Florida State’s Center for Civic Education and Service and Leon County Volunteer Center. The CACC will give citizens living in  communities throughout Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor and Wakulla Counties in North Florida an organized way of volunteering to help prepare individuals, families, neighborhoods, schools and businesses for the next disaster or emergency.
