Attend the November 11th informational session from
9am through noon to learn more about how you can get involved. As
part of the local preparedness team, you can:

Educate individuals who are dependent on
electricity for medical reasons on registering with their emergency
manager.
-
Mentor an individual who is developing a disaster
preparedness and evacuation plan.
-
Provide free training to volunteers and
organizations on disaster issues, volunteer management, grassroots
leadership, and conflict resolution.
-
Organize a disaster supply kit drive to benefit
individuals who cannot afford them.
-
Coordinate and publicize events, trainings, and
meetings.
-
Serve as a member of the community steering
committee.
-
Research which neighbors you have that might need
assistance with preparedness and warning information.
-
Assist the Emergency Operations Center with rumor
control.
-
Interview potential volunteers to determine their
skills & availability to respond after a disaster.
-
And lots more!
Civic, corporate, student, faith-based, grassroots,
and fraternal organizations are encouraged to send at least two
representatives to learn about community need and response in the event
