VolunteerLEON's Featured Story - December 2005

PEACE-ING OURSELVES TOGETHER- Youth Corps newest initiative!

Akin Leading a HIPP activityOn December 19th and 20th, from 9:00-5:00, VolunteerLEON's Youth Corps will be sponsoring HIPP Training at the Jack McLean Community Center. HIPP stands for Help Increase the Peace Program; a fun, interactive, free workshop that builds leadership skills through communication, conflict resolution and team work. The workshop is also meant to strengthen participants' understanding and collaboration across races, cultures, and generations.

The training is open to middle and high school students, and to adults who work with, or volunteer with, young people. The only other qualification is that you have a desire to better our community and the world! Pre-registration is required.  For more information please contact Meghan Heitman at HeitmanM@leoncountyfl.gov or 850-606-1979. Applications are due no later than December 12th and can be accessed online at www.volunteerleon.org/hipp.pdf
