VolunteerLEON's Featured Story - September 2005

CARE to Help HURRICANE Victims

ARC Volunteers Unloading a Shelter Kit The devastation that has occurred in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas as a result of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita has reached unimaginable proportions, and the extent of the damage caused is still unfolding.

You can CARE for our neighbors in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas!

C - Cash: financial donations get help to people fast

A - Ask: before collecting items that may not be needed

R - Respond – by volunteering with a local relief agency.

E - Everyone can help. There are opportunities for you to volunteer locally.

Volunteers can best help victims and responders by working with an experienced disaster relief agency, whether in Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi or Alabama. If you are already affiliated with a disaster relief organization, please contact them to offer help.

Please do NOT attempt to enter the impacted areas unless you are trained by and affiliated with an experienced disaster relief organization.
