Big Bend Responds to Hurricane Dennis

VolunteerLEON is Leon County's Emergency Service Function 15 - Volunteers and Donations.

Volunteers - Big Bend citizens who would like to help victims of Hurricane Dennis can assist by volunteering their time. Case workers, mental health workers, and medical professionals are needed immediately to provide support to the American Red Cross.  Other citizens can get involved at Emergency Aid Stations in Franklin and Wakulla counties through this weekend.  To sign up or get more information about these opportunities go to www.VolunteerLEON.org/VolunteerConnection and click on the Emergency Response link.

Donations - Relief organizations need your contribution now. Cash donations are best, because they allow relief agencies to address specific needs most quickly. Visit the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross online to get information on donating or call 850.878.6080.  Other disaster relief organizations that need your assistance can be found online at http://www.volunteerflorida.org/. If you are interested in donating supplies, visit http://www.volunteerflorida.org/ for frequently requested items. Check back on this site for donation drop off locations.

Damage - You can register your damage from Hurricane Dennis by logging onto the American Red Cross On-Line Damage Assessment web site found at: http://www.tallytown.com/redcross/ds
