During
an six week course this spring at Tallahassee Community College, 24 of
Leon County ’s volunteer coordinators, from 13 different nonprofit and
governmental organizations, earned the Florida Volunteer Administration
Certificate. Tom Linley, Volunteer Florida’s Chief of Staff, spoke to
the volunteer administrators, prior to presenting the certificates with
Jeri Bush, VolunteerLEON’s Director.
Volunteer Florida , Florida Association of Volunteer Centers and The
Points of Light Foundation collaborated to develop the volunteer
management training program. Our shared vision is to professionalize the
field of volunteer management so that all volunteers are able to make a
positive difference in their community and ensure that volunteers
deliver quality services.
The certificate program will be offered again through Tallahassee
Community College in Spring 2008. If you are interested in participating
as a student or trainer, please contact us at (850) 606-1970 or
